Our mission is to establish AFRIQUALAB as a reference throughout Africa and for its affiliated laboratories to become regional centre of excellence as well as AQE and PT service providers of research and medical laboratory quality.

We are determined to offer quality PT services and to continuously push for laboratory management system and HIV testing service improvements throughout the  African continent.

IRESSEF and PT AFRIQUALAB program lead researcher and director, Professor Souleymane Mboup has dedicated 25 years of his life to HIV/AIDS research and brought important contributions to HIV/AIDS studies and control in Africa and in the World. Considered an African pioneer, his researchs contributed to the HIV-2 virus initial identification and characterisation which has influenced our understanding of the HIV-2 infection natural and pathogenesis history and facilitated the development of testing and diagnostic tests.

During his tenure as Director of the Bacteriology and Virology Laboratory at Cheikh Anta Diop University (CADU), professor Mboup helped BVL/CADU obtain the ISO15189 certification and establish it as a leading organisation and a HIV/AIDS research center of excellence.
